California Work Capacity Test Compartment Syndrome 2025

The employee, a seasonal firefighter, was completing the arduous pack test when they completed the test they had severe leg cramps. The EMT on site recommended the staff take the employee to the ER for further diagnosis. The employee spent the night in the ER at Mercy Medical in Redding. They were diagnosed with compartment syndrome and the medical team performed a surgical procedure to release the pressure from swelling. The employee is expected to stay in the hospital 2-3 days.
