Description:
On April 6, the human-caused Cave Springs Fire was reported at approximately 1200 hours. This fire was located on private lands nine miles southwest of Stilwell, Oklahoma. The fire was contained at approximately 2100 hours; all resources were released. The next day, the Task Force Leader (TFLD), a Type 6 Engine, and a squad returned to the Cave Springs Fire, which had escaped containment. As suppression efforts were underway, an explosion was heard from the direction of the parked vehicles. It was discovered that TFLD's vehicle had caught fire. It was a total loss, but no injuries occurred.
