Cooper Fire Chest Pain Incident 2018

    A firefighter from a state crew on the Cooper Fire was experiencing chest pains. Due to the steepness of the terrain and lack of any nearby roads, the firefighter was unable to walk out or get packed out in a timely manner. The Helena Short-Haul crew successfully transported the patient approximately four miles to a landing zone where an air ambulance and ground transportation was available. Paramedics recommended the patient be transported by ambulance to a hospital in Bonners Ferry, Idaho. The patient received care and is in stable condition.
