Description:
A crewmember (swamper) on an Interagency Hotshot Crew (IHC) was hit by a tree while constructing indirect fire line around a native allotment. The swamper was moving cut material when their saw partner cut a dead standing spruce (approximately 6 inches in diameter and 15 feet tall) in the direction of the swamper, who was struck on the back part of the top of his head resulting in minor neck pain. The swamper was taken by helicopter to the Mat Su Regional Hospital and was treated and released.
