  • Description:

    On June 12, 2016 on the Juniper Fire on the Tonto National Forest, a Division Supervisor was operating a UTV when he was impacted by a severe thunder and lightning storm. As he was approaching his UTV trailer, his vehicle suddenly came into view. The UTV operator hit the brakes. The UTV slid into the ditch, flipped over, and rolled down the ditch line. The UTV ended up on its top with fuel leaking from the fuel tank. The operator was able to crawl out of the UTV. He was not injured. He flipped the UTV back onto its wheels to stop the fuel from leaking.
