Description:
A crewmember was on the southern edge of the prescribed fire unit (on the San Bernardino National Forest) during the firing phase when a flare up occurred. As the crewmember was moving out of the flare up area, he raised his arm to block the heat and his elbow sustained a burn injury. The crewmember was initially treated by a local ambulance. The recommendation was made for the crewmember to go to a burn center due to location of burn on the elbow. The crewmember was transported to Arrowhead Regional Hospital in San Bernardino, California with an Agency vehicle.
